Low-radiation Digital X-rays

X-rays have long been a basic diagnostic tool for dentists. Dr. Crawford is equipped with digital X-rays—also called digital radiographs—which offer important innovations for your comfort and safety. Both conventional and digital X-rays share a purpose: They allow Dr. Crawford to see areas of your teeth and surrounding tissues that would otherwise be hidden or invisible. X-ray images allow Dr. Crawford to detect a hidden cavity, an abscess under a tooth and many other problems. Digital X-rays are seen immediately on our computer screen and can be enlarged for optimal diagnostic viewing. Because they are stored digitally, the images can be printed or shared by email with other dental professionals and they are environmentally friendly because they eliminate the need for processing chemicals. Worried about radiation? Although traditional X-rays are very safe, the digital option is even better, exposing patients to 80% less radiation than conventional X-rays.
